In Their Own Story

The alleyway was suffocatingly dark, the air thick with the scent of ozone and rotting flowers. A massive Shadow loomed ahead, its faceless visage dripping with malice that made the teenager's knees buckle. Panic tried to swallow him whole, but beneath the fear, a spark of defiance ignited—a refusal to be consumed. With a gasp that tore from his throat, he reached for the void inside his mind. A blinding light erupted, shattering the darkness as a spectral figure clad in ancient armor materialized behind him, its eyes burning with resolve. 'Now,' the spirit whispered without moving its lips, 'we fight.'

Reader's Guide

The source of this power is the Collective Unconscious, a shared psychic reservoir where archetypes reside. When a user's willpower resonates strongly enough, they can call forth these archetypes to manifest physically as Personas. Signature capabilities vary by Persona but generally include elemental magic like Fire (Agilao), Ice (Bufu), and Electricity (Zionga). Users also gain access to physical strikes, healing abilities, and status ailment skills that target the mental state of enemies. Some rare users can command multiple spirits or switch between them instantly. Artifacts such as Tarot cards, masks, or specific weapons often act as conduits to stabilize the summoning process. These items help the user visualize their inner self more clearly, allowing for stronger manifestations and access to higher-level skills that were previously locked behind psychological barriers.
